"Converting Examination or Test Scores from one Total to Another"

You can convert with ease, a score say x/20 to x/5. The procedure is simple.
Simply obtain a decimal number from the ratio of the denominators; that is  5:20 or 5/20. This gives 5/20=0.25. Now, multiply every other score on 20 by 0.25 to convert it to a score on 5.
Examples convert the score 14/20 to a score on 5.
Solution
14/20=x/5
5:20=5/20=0.25
To get the value of x, multiply 14 by 0.25.
14×0.25=3.5
Therefore, 14/20=3.5/5.
Multiply every other score by 0.25 to have an equivalent score on 5.
NB. You can equally convert the score on five to a score on 20 by using the ratio 20:5 or 20/5. 20/5=4. Multiply every score on 5 by 4 to change it to a score on 20.
Example. Convert the score 2.6/5 to a score on 20
Solution
2.6/5=x/20
20/5=4
2.6×4=10.4
Therefore, 2.6/5 = 10.4/20

With this in mind, you can administer a test and use any total of your choice to evaluate the learners.
