"Do Principals have Little Control over Teachers?"

The principal's power can be spiritual, physical or administrative. The power I am referring to here is administrative. Every administrator's job has a description guided by a text backed by the laws of the land.
As a professional who is the overseer of a school, he is there to ensure that teachers do their work as expected. He has the power to sanction a teacher as the text stipulates if that teacher goes against the ethics of the profession.
The principal can decide to exercise little power over the teachers  just to maintain a conducive atmosphere for work to be done happily.
No teacher should ever assume the principal's gentle nature for weakness. Even though there is no college where someone study to become a principal, he or she remains the head of the institution and must be respected by all teachers irrespective of age , sex or academic background. Principals on their part need to respect  their teachers because respect is begot respect
Every teacher needs to know his or her job description and subject matter in order to avoid any scratch with the administration under the leadership of the principal. So I can conclude by saying that a principal does not have little power over the teachers. He has more powers backed by a text.
