"Why is it Important for every Teacher to consider the Individual Differences of Learners in the Teaching-learning Process?"

No two fingers of yours have the same height. This aspect makes them different both in appearance and in the way they are used. Furthermore, even identical twins are different in the way they feel and think. Considering the individual differences will make teaching good . learning on the other side will easy and  enjoyable .

From above, I think the individual differences of the learners must be considered because we have two types of learners: fast and slow learners. In addition to these, their family background and environment play a big role in determining the rate at which they understand what is being thought.

The students are not empty vessels to be filled. Coming from various backgrounds and environment, the teacher is there to guide and direct them; after proper evaluation of previous knowledge, sound and attainable lesson objectives.

Without adequately verifying their previous knowledge to build on with very clear objectives, they may be lapses; the fast learners may do things exactly as told by the teacher with no inputs, while the slow learners will remain wondering what must have happen as the message cannot be connected quickly to any real life activity. The result is, most of the slow learners will tend to hate the subject and the teacher.

There is need for subject masters to always have a grip of the subject matter and above all, the needs of the learners before meeting them .   Do your research well for the lesson to be be interesting to all learners.

Most students say some subjects are difficult because of the way they are introduced and taught. No subject is difficult to any learner if well prepared and considering the age, level and needs of the learners. No two or more human beings are the same in the way they think and feel; even identical twins. Their differences must be considered if the teaching-learning process has to be successful.
